Our history is that we have constantly put profits back into the business to develop a better business and better service. Just as Ugo Covino was the first farmer in his area to introduce a mechanical carrot harvester, we are always looking for the latest technology and systems that can improve the way we do things.
Here are some of the things we are working on and plan to implement.
Our own on-site laboratory: We constantly assess our systems and hygiene via testing with an outside laboratory. We plan on establishing our own laboratory so that testing occurs on-site with faster feedback into our system.
A product development kitchen: You might link that a lettuce is a lettuce and a carrot a carrot. But it’s never that simple. Consumers are looking for better products in new and interesting ways. We’ve always been highly responsive to consumers’ and clients’ changing needs and have always sought new and better ways of ‘doing’ fresh vegetables. With our own development kitchen we plan to develop, test and present new product ideas to clients and consumers based on what clients and consumers tell us they want.
